What do I have
to do before I submit my request?
You must check that the material
you are requesting is NOT available on campus.
This includes the catalogues at Regent, VST,
UBC and St. Mark's. For material published
before 1978, you must check the card catalogue
at UBC (Main Library).
You MUST check each of
these places before submitting your request. Otherwise,
Regent students could potentially lose their interlibrary
loan priviledges:
-
Regent Carey Library
-
VST Library (both VST and Regent catalogues can be searched from library.regent-college.edu. )
-
UBC
on-line (click here
for access to UBC's catalogue)
-

materials published before 1978)
-
St. Mark's catalogue

Where do I submit
my request?
All requests must be submitted
on-line. You can find the ILL (interlibrary loan)
site at http://www.library.ubc.ca/home/orderdel.html.
For Step 2 of the instructions under Library Card Type, check "UBC student, faculty, or staff" and for Subject Area check "All other disciplines/subjects". Carefully read and follow the rest of the instructions,
making sure you correctly and completely
fill out all forms. The more information you can provide the quicker it is for UBC to process your request.
How long will my request
take to get here?
As a general rule, it is probably
best to allow a minimum of 1 to 2 weeks
to fill a request. If the material is not received
within six week of the inquiry date, contact UBC Library about the problem.
How much will it cost?
ILL is free for students, faculty
or staff of Regent College. If there are special
costs involved, the patron will be notified and
must give a written authorization to proceed.
How long can I keep
it?
Photocopies and reprints are
usually yours to keep. Other material on loan
is due two weeks from the date received by UBC,
not from the time you pick it up! ILL requests
are NON RENEWABLE. You can reorder the material;
however, subsequent requests for the same material
cost a minimum of $30 per request.
How will I be notified?
You will be notified directly
by UBC's Resource Sharing Service (RSS), either
by email (if you provide an email address) or
by telephone. Please note that the RSS will not
make long-distance calls for notification.
Where do I pick up my
request?
The requests are picked up at
the Koerner Library Circulation Desk.
Where do I return it?
ILL material must be returned
directly to the Koerner Library Circulation Desk.
Fines and suspensions apply to overdue material.
Items which are lost by the borrower must be replaced
at the borrower's expense.
